Welcome to the 3rd round of the Pro-Choice and Proud of it campaign for 2006-07!
NUS Women’s Campaign believes that women should be the key decision makers when it comes to their own bodies; having reproductive control over our bodies is our right. For decades, across the world, women and men have been campaigning and winning the right to legal and safe abortion on demand. In the UK access to abortion is limited and it is also under attack!
We are quite literally fighting to defend the access we currently have to abortion in the UK and if we don’t we will simply start to see abortion become illegal – bit by bit.
Access to abortion and to other pregnancy and childcare services is an education issue too! Too many women drop out of College or University because of lack of support during an unplanned pregnancy.
NUS Women’s Campaign is teaming up with Abortion Rights to run the most high profile pro-choice campaign in decades!

NUS Women’s Campaign recommends that SU women’s groups or students’ unions affiliate to Abortion Rights for information purposes only. We believe that women’s officers and SU women’s groups have an important role to play in educating their members about the issues and encouraging discussion and debate on the threats posed by any proposals to change the law. Pro-choice students can also affiliate as individuals.
