Fairtrade campaign drawers attention to man-made poverty
Fairtrade fortnight (1-13 March) is fast approaching and Pants to Poverty - a new innovative campaigning enterprise - is selling alluring bold and beautiful fairtrade, organic and sweatshop free pants for boys and girls! The pants are designed to promote the message that man-made poverty is a scandal and together we can find beautiful ways to wipe it out.
Pants to Poverty also launched its new condom pocket pants (complete with fairly trade condoms) on Valentine's Day. These will be available in stores for Fairtrade fortnight. £1 from every pair sold will be donated to the Treatment Action Campaign in South Africa to support its fight against HIV/AIDs. The virus and AIDs kills 950 people every day in South Africa.

Swing your students' pants
We want to highlight your students' union's work on this campaign so that you can see what other unions are up to, brag about your own achievements and share best practice. If you have pictures of your students protesting, preferably in their pants to poverty pants, send them to us and we'll show the best online.
Please get the permission of those being photographed before you send them in.
