Welcome to the precourse work pages for Communication in Action

Please take the time to complete all sections as it will prepare you for the course and allow us to ensure the course is more tailored to your needs.

TASK 1

Please complete the online questionaire about you, your union and your union's communications. There are four questions in the questionaire, you may need to go away and find this information before completing them:

1. What is your background in communications (i.e. media/communications course, newspaper writer/editor etc)?

2. Find your role description and you will be asked to copy and paste it into the box.

3. What is your union's vision and values

4. What communications methods does your use to communicate with your members?

5. Does your union use communications strategies or have an overall communications strategy? (If yes, please identify how you use them)

TASK 2

Please bring examples of your current communications (e.g. newspapers, magazines and flyers) to share during the course.

TASK 3

To enable you to make the most of this course, we strongly advise that you meet with your fellow officers and staff members prior to attending to discuss what you wish to gain from this training experience. We especially recommend discussing which workshops it is appropriate to attend to ensure the greatest benefit to your union.
