Get a green students’ union through the Carbon Academy
Free energy audit for students' union
As part of its Carbon Trust-funded project, the Carbon Academy (which is managed by NUS Services) is offering 30 free energy audits to students' unions. The visits will be lead by its team of volunteer carbon ambassadors and will seek to find between 10 and 15 priority recommendations for how each union can reduce its carbon footprint.
The visits will take place from January to the end of March 2008 and unions can book a visit by visiting the Carbon Academy page at www.nussl.co.uk.
There are only 30 visits on offer and 12 have already been booked so book early to avoid disappointment.
Carbon Academy open access training course
NUS Services is also running a free day-long training course on energy efficiency in students' unions. The course is aimed at student officers and staff and will equip delegates with the key knowledge to carry out an energy audit in a students' union. The training days are being run on the following days, each including a practical auditing exercise in a working students' union.
