Ongoing Campaigns
Society and Citizenship Priority Campaign
Don't look away now: Protect the People of Darfur
The priority campaign this year comes off the back of a number of year’s grassroots student campaigning by a number of student organisations. For the past few years, student led organisations, such as Aegis Students, the Union of Jewish Students and Amnesty UK Students, have campaigned locally to raise awareness and call for action to end the ongoing genocide in Darfur, Sudan.

Ethical and Environmental program of work:
Students have been at the forefront of the charge against climate change. NUS will be supporting action against climate change as part of our Ethical and Environmental agenda. More information to follow.

Southern Africa: Campaigning for peace, justice and solidarity
Over the past few years, NUS has developed strong relationships with other national unions of students around the world, standing in solidarity with students in countries such as Zimbabwe, in calls for peace, justice, democracy and equality. The NUS Womens Campaign last year built strong relations with ACTSA (Action for southern Africa) supporting Dignity!Period, a program aimed at raising funds to support women accessing sanitary provisions.
Already this year, NUS has been active in campaigning against the abuse of students in Zimbabwe, participating in a demonstration out side the Zimbabwean embassy.
