NUS Copenhagen Manifesto
NUS teamed up with the Department for Energy and Climate Change (DECC) to give our members the opportunity to develop a student vision for Copenhagen. Based on the themes of the international negotiations this was your chance to tell Government directly what issues, which were debated at Copenhagen, are of critical importance to you.
The Wave
More than 50,000 descended on the streets of London, Glasgow and Belfast on Saturday ahead of the Copenhagen summit in the UK’s biggest ever demonstration in support of action on climate change. The protest was organised by Stop Climate Chaos, which NUS is a vocal partner, and called for a fast and fair deal when world leader met in Copenhagen.
Ed Miliband, Secretary of State for Energy and Climate Change, recorded this exclusive message for delegates at NUS’ Society & Citizenship Zone Conference.
Ethical and Environmental Officer Training
The third annual Ethical and Environmental Officer Training event was held at Leeds University Union on Tuesday 13 October 2009. An exciting range of guest speakers from a wide range of campaigning organisations gave presentations and workshops throughout the day. This provided delegates with plenty of ideas and resources to start campaigning both on and off campus.
