NUS History

Since its conception in 1922, NUS has worked tirelessly on behalf of students and students’ unions. Further and higher education has changed much in those 80+ years – some of those changes as a direct result of the campaigning work that NUS has undertaken.

Many in the student movement don’t always appreciate exactly what does go on ‘behind the NUS scenes’, so we thought we’d highlight on these pages some of the successes that NUS has achieved on behalf of students over the last fifty years.
