Why get involved in these networks?

Networking is an effective and reliable method of information gathering and developing skills around an area or issue common to all network members. Networking is:

  • Cost effective
  • Opportunity to problem solve
  • Reliable way of sourcing information from like-minded individuals
  • A way of developing knowledge and skills around common areas
  • An opportunity to access specialist information
  • Identifying opportunities for cross-collaboration between network members

More than 700 student development practitioners participate in regional, national and on-line networking forums to help facilitate the provision of student activities within the student union environment.

At any one time between 200 and 500 people are registered onto each of the networks using the mailbases, relying on the facility to post questions regarding student activities and development.
