Tell us a bit about yourself: I come from Belfast and came over here to study. Whilst here I played rugby union and league for university. I went onto captain the university rugby team for two years and through this I decided to get more involved in my students' union and so ran for my post.

What do you want to do after you leave your union?After my term at Leicester, I would like to develop my experience in student-media to turn to a life of professional journalism. Ideally though, I would also like to spend some time helping to run focus groups for the Department for Education and Skills, particularly in the field of higher education, so that ministers actually know what students think!

Additional areas include running the student training team, and providing training support for clubs, societies and elected representatives.
