Peronal Experience - What i got out of my time on the Advisory Group

"As the only member of staff in my students' union, it could often be very difficult to find people with whom I could share problems or bounce ideas. By getting involved in the netorks and acting as a regional co-ordinator, I was able to see how things work elsewhere, learn about best practice and get useful external perspectives on our own student activities. Although NUS Networks operates around a series of formal conferences and events, I was able to use these events to be inspired, motivated and challenged by talking informally to colleagues from around the UK. Our student activities have definitely benefited from the great networking opportunities that NUS Networks provides."

Simon Varwell was the Joint Regional Co-ordinator for Scotland for over 2 years.
