Latest actions for the education funding campaign

In this the final term of the year we are asking you to lobby your local council to set up a scrutiny committee to investingate the contribution that students make to your local area.
A good relationship with your council can help you with many other issues such as studentification, crime, safety and welfare. The recognition of students as stakeholders in the community is an important legacy that you can leave your student union. By establishing a scrutiny panel you can contribute to the national agenda in a critical way, as committees can look at the impact that any increase in fees would have upon institutions and the area or investigate any other concerns that you have such as housing provision.
This activity may well get you brownie points with your institution too, so let them know what you're up to.
Good luck with your campaigning and let NUS know what response you get.
