A model fair trade event
City College Plymouth Students' Union held it’s fair trade festival on 7 March and more than 60 of the college’s students came to the Kings Road Campus for guest lecturers, advice and a catwalk display.
The day long celebration of fair trade saw presentations from AJ, SU Vice President: Environment and Welfare, a guest presentation from the charity Traidcraft and a fashion show where models took to the catwalk in fair trade clothing provided by the local branch of CULT.
“The messege was clear. fair trade items are an easy way to support the hardest working yet poorest paid people in the world without spending any more money than you usually would,” said SU President Shane Chowen. “So next time you’re out shopping for Saturday night going out gear, ask where they keep there Fair Trade clothing.”
The union would like to thank all involved, particularly to the staff at CULT, Aramark, Traidcraft, Estates and the models.
