Students’ Union strikes blow to lazyUnion representation helps students win 50% rent
rebate.
The University of Warwick Students’ Union is proud to announce that is has
successfully represented two groups of Warwick students to win a landmark
decision on two joint applications regarding unlicensed Houses in Multiple
Occupation (HMO). On 6th April 2006 mandatory licensing came into force across
England for HMOs of three or more storeys, occupied by five or more tenants in
two or more households. Two such properties occupied by members of the
Students’ Union remained unlicensed for over a year after this date.
