NUS' Governance Review

NUS annual conference 2008. Delegates voting

Over the past year we have refocused on our core purpose of promoting, defending and extending the rights of students alongside developing and championing strong students' unions.

As part of that process, you asked us to reform our structures. You gave us ideas of what you wanted; proposals were then developed, amended and then passed at an extraordinary conference in late 2007. But at Annual Conference 2008 they just missed the two-thirds majority necessary to be ratified.

So, we know they weren't perfect - which is why we need your feedback.

If you want to know the basics about how NUS works and what the proposals contained, take a look at Reforming NUS.

If you want to go a bit more in-depth, read on in NUS Reform - the way forward.

You can also view a slideshow presentation of our structures for use with union councils and execs.

We'd very much encourage your feedback so we keep NUS on the road to reform. Have a read and email reform@nus.org.uk.

If you're student we want your feedback. Fill in our short questionnaire by 31 August and you could win and iPod.
