Regional Media Day

Following the success of last year’s regional media training day in Birmingham, NUS will be repeating the event this October. Once again, the day has been organised in partnership with the Birmingham Post and the Birmingham Evening Mail, and is open to anyone with an interest in student journalism - from the occasional contributor to full time editor. The day will be held at the Birmingham Mail and Post’s Headquarters, and workshops will be led by experienced professionals from both newspapers.

Workshops will include:
·Running a newsdesk ; news-gathering tips
·Features ; the Columnist ; the Critic
·Libel, Copyright, Freedom of Information
·Effective interviewing
·Getting a job in journalism
·Sub-editing ; headline writing ; proof reading ; design
·Newsroom tours

The cost of the day is just £12 (+ VAT) for students at HE institutions, and £6 (+ VAT) for FE students. To register for the event, complete the form below and send it back to us by October 20th
