Working with others and dealing with difficult situations

13 December 2007
London

Dates and locations
3rd December - Liverpool
13th December – London

About the course
Improving our understanding of why we behave in the ways that we do, and how what we say and do impacts on others, is fundamental to all interpersonal skills training. Enhancing self-awareness enables us to be more in tune with our own and other people’s feelings and needs, leading to healthier and more productive work relationships, with clients, colleagues, managers or board members. This workshop will also help with our effectiveness in the workplace, for instance, when handling differences of opinion; motivating others; managing our managers, or putting forward suggestions and proposals.

- Identifying the factors that affect our behaviour, for example: gender and age expectations; cultural and racial stereotypes; and levels of self-awareness and self-esteem
- Understanding different types of challenging behaviour which can be mostly classified under aggressive, passive or manipulative
- Defining, developing and promoting assertive behaviour over these other forms of behaviour as a framework for dealing with these behaviours
- Developing objectivity and managing prejudices
- Developing our body language awareness and sensitivity
- Developing our ability to anticipate difficulties and to prevent them escalating

Further information about this Officer Enhancement Programme will be available here soon
