About the NUT Scholarship

Each year a member of the National Executive Committee is awarded by the National President, the NUT Scholarship as part of the Education Zone. That person leads on all liaison work with the National Union of Teachers (NUT), campaigns on collective issues for teacher training students and lifts the voice of student teachers in the National Union of Students (NUS).
Over the years the NUT Scholarship has:
- Created the Charter for Initial Teacher Training Students;
- Campaign Against PGCE Top Up Fees; and
- Provided financial information of teacher training students.

New resources
The NUS and NUT Partnership has worked on the following resources to help teacher training students directly and those who support and represent them. The Charter for Initial Teacher Training Students set standards for students and outlines their rights while the Your Finance: Facts and Figures helps students and others through the news financial arrangements now Top-Up fees are in and the student support packages have changed.
