| I wanted to blog my diary for the last month to dispel the myth that after Annual Conference all NEC members (especially outgoing ones!) stop working! *Dates where there’s nothing down were office days, where amongst other things I’ve been finalising the Students & Communities report, which is now at the printers, preparing for mature students conference, writing the welfare report and plan, and beginning to collate things for Ama’s handover.
April 2nd & 3rd – ASRA conference, Swansea, running sessions on The role of a Welfare Officer and Students & Communities. Then up to Liverpool for NUSSL dinner, much fun! April 11th- UNIAID Board of Trustees Meeting April 12th - SMT Meeting
April 13-15th - TUC Youth Conference, Leicester April 18th - Reading SU Hub Opening April 19th – SMT pre-meet and NEC meeting (welcome and congratulations to all NEC elect!) April 22-24th - Mature Students Conference, Coventry April 26th - Annual Leave April 27th - Meeting with IFCAG, re ID fraud campaign
April 30th - SMT Meeting May 1st - Meeting with UUK re HEFCE proposal Meeting with Baroness Andrews at DCLG about the Housing Act & Communities work May 2nd & 3rd - Anti- BNP campaigning in Bradford South (success, the BNP were beaten in the ward we were campaigning in!) May 4th - SMT pre-meet and NEC meeting May 8th - Students & community report launch planning meeting and welfare handover meeting May 10th – Visit to Rose Bruford College AGM. Pre-AGM, we had a tour. I’ve never been to a drama college before so I had a fascinating time seeing the students at work, making costumes, practicing performances. We were also very amused that the college had made the local press the week before when an outdoor lighting display at the college caused rumours of suspected UFOs over Sidcup! Hope to see lots of you at regionals next week In unity VK x
