| Monday 18th- Friday 22nd September: Freshers fairs at the following places, talking to students about fees and building for the national demo: • UcCA Canterbury • Leeds Met Well Fair • Manchester Met • Bucks Chilts • City & Islington College Sunday 24th – Thursday 28th September Labour Party conference-I’ve written a separate blog about that which you can read here if you missed it - blogs/veronicaking Friday 29th September- NUS Mental Health Day- went really well, thanks to everyone who helped out, ran workshops and made it possible. Monday 2nd October- HQ, frantically blitzing the last 2 weeks worth of e-mails. Tuesday 3rd- 10th Oct ACTSA trip (see separate blog) Wednesday 11th – Friday 13th Oct- HQ catching up on emails and writing the welfare and mature student campaign report and plans. 15th-20th October: This week, my work was focused on the 2 zones aside from Welfare, which I’m a member of, FE and Strong and Active Unions (for affiliation campaigns)- 16th Oct- FE Officer Network Day, NUS South, North Devon College 17thOct- UWE Bristol, Affiliation Referendum 18th October- Sex Education Forum meeting, about delivering sexual health services in FE settings (ok so a bit of welfare crept in there). Then on to News 24 to discuss the UCAS figures, where I randomly, but very excitingly, met Neil Kinnock. 19th October- FE SSLO Day, NUS Midlands & East, Loughborough College 20th October- Back to UWE for affiliation referendum- 89% said yes, what a result! Well done everyone who helped achieve this!
