Playing Blog Catch-Up
26/06/2006

  • Friday 31st March- Annual Leave- a fabulous weekend away in Wales!
  • Monday 3rd April- Day in the Office
  • Tuesday 4th April- NUS HQ- Grand Opening of new offices with Tony Benn (wow!)
  • Wednesday 5th & Thursday 6th April- NUS HQ
  • Saturday 8th April- Mature Students Committee meeting & International Students Festival (where I was running a workshop on mental health), both in Manchester
  • Monday 10th April- Annual Leave
  • Tuesday 11th April – Meeting at Markfield Institute for Higher Education about religious provision/prayer rooms, particularly in FE, where I represented NUS.
  • Wednesday 12th & Thursday 13th April- Annual Leave
  • 14th-17th April- Bank Holiday Weekend
  • 18th April – North East Campaigns Day, Teeside Students Union
  • 19th April NUS Sexual Health Lobby (see separate blog)
  • 20th April- HQ- finalising details of Mature Students Conference
  • 21st April- Keele SU for meeting with University about potential co-operative accommodation project.
  • 23rd- 25th April- Mature Students Conference. I was really relieved this went smoothly, with our charter of rights, new campaign materials, coffee morning all going down well, lots of far-reaching policy being passed and a hotly contested committee election. Thanks again to the current committee and Jude for your hard work for this. I for one breathed a sigh of relief afterwards!
  • 26th April- WMANUS spring conference. Congratulations to those elected, and well done WMANUS on passing policy both against targeted grants and in support of AUT & NATFHE.
  • 27th April – Mental Health Training, Oxford & Cherwell College
  • 28th April- Unipol Housing Act briefing day & SEANUS exec meeting
  • 29th April - 1st May Bank Holiday Weekend
  • 2nd May- Bath Spa Students Union, to plan work around students and communities.

Sometimes it’s said that after conference, the work of the NEC grinds to a halt for the rest of the academic year- hopefully this blog can illustrate how profusely that hasn’t been the case!
