NUS is working in partnership with the Students Unions of Manchester in piloting a student co-operative housing project. This project has been under way for a couple of years now, and conference 2005 passed the following policy in relation to it:
- To support the student co-operative housing project in Manchester.
- To support a vision of students accommodation with low rents, unique design, sustainable development, democratic involvement and community spirit.
- To work with the VP Welfare and Manchester Students Unions to help this pilot get off the ground as way of working towards this vision.
In the coming months we will be getting more information out to officers and unions about the project. In order to explain the project better, you can view the powerpoint presentation which was shown to officers at Action through Advocacy summer training.
