Bulk-buying of Condoms through NUSSL

August 12, 2005

Dear Officer

RE: Bulk purchasing of condoms through NUS Services (NUSSL)

I am pleased to inform you that NUS Services have secured an agreement with Mates Healthcare to ensure that officers can purchase condoms at the cheapest possible price.

Some unions manage to secure free condoms from their local PCTS and sexual health services, but our research has shown this varies drastically according to town or city. For those unions who are left with no alternative but to purchase the condoms they distribute, we hope that by purchasing your condoms through this deal you will save on valuable resources.

This is the first time that the welfare campaign has worked in partnership with NUS Services in the bulk buying of welfare products. For this reason, we have kept strictly to purchasing condoms this year. Depending on the success of the scheme this year, we will look to expanding to other welfare items in the future.

Attached is an order form, with pricing information about the different condoms available. Please note that they are to be ordered directly from Mates, using the phone number or return address on the form.

I hope this is of help to you all. Good luck with your sexual health campaigning over the forthcoming year and if I can be of any assistance don’t hesitate to contact me- veronica.king@nus.org.uk

Sincerely,

Veronica King
NUS Vice-President Welfare
