| Wow, doesn’t time fly?! One minute you’re stumbling along trying to recover from Annual Conference and the next thing you know you’re National Secretary! I’ve been up to quite a lot in the past six weeks, here’s a run down of what’s been happening. • Management Team away day • Trip to South Africa and Swaziland with “Action for Southern Africa” • East Anglia Regional Reception • East Midlands Regional Reception • Welsh regional Reception • London Pride • NEC Induction • Interviews in Birmingham • Meeting about joint Television venture • GLA Sabbatical Reception • Meeting on NEC procedures and Protocols • Strong and Active Union Campaign meeting • Reading Sabbatical Handover Training • Interviews for Directors Posts • Tolpuddle Festival • Management Team Meeting • Fe Zone meeting • Society and citizenship Meeting • ULU Handover Party • Liberation 2006 As well as the official meetings in my diary, I’ve also been in consultation about a new communications strategy, the launch of NUS Networks, Campaigns Launch, NUS Student Media Awards, Summer Training and NUS Extra. This is just a brief rundown of the meetings and events I’ve been at since being in office, some of which I will go into more detail within the next week. If you have any questions about any of the bullet-points then do let me know. Stephen x
