www.labour.org.uk

My core beliefs and values have always been aligned closest to the labour values. Although I don't always agree with what the current leadership do (as you will notice further down) I still strongly believe in collectivism and changing things from within - you have to be in it to win it!

www.stonewall.org.uk

The chief LGBT lobbying organisation in the world. Their work over the past few decades has been fundamental to the legislative leaps forward we have seen from the present government. Check out there new adverts on the tube about homophobia in the workplace...they're awesome!

www.thechildrenofswaziland.org

Swaziland is a beautiful country but in crisis - although you would never know it from the lack of coverage it gets from our media and press. Its population is less than 1 million, over 40% are HIV/Aids positive and few can afford access to the anti-retroviral drugs they need. Life expectance is amongst the lowest in the world, resulting in thousands upon thousands of orphans living in poverty. Through this small charity, you can sponsor an orphan and make a massive difference to their prospects in the short term whilst long term, sustainable solutions are sought.

www.no2id.net

There are too many reasons why I oppose ID cards to explain on here-so check out the website and sign the petition!

www.votes@16.co.uk

The arguments against 16-year-olds having the vote is the same argument that was used against giving black people and women a vote a few decades ago. They are as redundant now as they ever were.

www.ccfc.co.uk

Shame on me I know, but at least I have Joe Rukin on my side!

www.bbc.co.uk

The website I check most often.

www.compassonline.org.uk

Compass is a new democratic left pressure group, whose goal is to debate and develop the ideas for a more equal and democratic society, then campaign and organise to help ensure they become a reality.

www.makepovertyhistory.org

Make Poverty History has become an unprecedented movement of passion, energy and solidarity. Never before have so many people in the world come together, fully united in demanding action to end poverty, with a roar for justice that they felt was impossible to ignore.

www.amnesty.org

Amnesty International calls for action to stop governments using torture and other cruel, inhuman and degrading treatment in the "war on terror" and to challenge attempts to defend their use. Amnesty International defends human rights and promotes democracy across the world. Amnesty campaigns make a real difference to the lives of political prisoners across the world to free them from torture and execution under brutal regimes.

www.actsa.org

I am a member of Action for Southern Africa (the old Anti-Aparthied movement). Having just come back from South Africa and Swaziland i've become incredibly passionate about this region in particular and part of my work this year will go to getting Africa back on the NUS agenda.
