As you may also realise by now it has entered elections time here in NUS and yes though there have been rumours I am standing for National President. I was unsure if I should put this up on my blog but then I thought one of the things that I have always been is open and honest about things and one of the things I believe in is transparency. Therefore I feel that I should publicly declare rather than just do it through phone calls and emails so this is it: Me saying yes, I am running. Nominations have to be in on January 27th at 5pm, which is all a bit scary, but I am not allowing this to stop me getting on with my actual role within NUS.
We have the Love Is Campaign coming up, NUS SWD Conference, Mental Health day and a day about the new disability equality duty that we are putting on with the Disability Rights Commission and Skill as well as the MORI reforms as I am part of the year of change group and lots of action happening within the Participate Campaign. It’s going to be a busy few months!!!! If you would like to know more about whats happening over the next few months like the SWD Conference, Love Is Campaign, the Participate days of actions then do just get in touch.
