Hello All- hope you are all now in the swing of things. I have been asked to pass on this info about FEM '05 so thought I would plug it in my blog.
On Saturday 5th November FEM 05 - A National Conference on Women’s Rights - will be held at Sheffield University Union of Students. It is the second in the series of FEM Conferences; the follow-up to the highly successful FEM 04.
The conferences aim to educate, inspire and motivate people to get involved in campaigns for gender equality, and are unique in providing a central forum for the varied campaign groups and individuals involved in the feminist movement to come together and share experiences and knowledge.
Speakers taking part in FEM 05 include Kate Allen, Director of Amnesty International UK; Professor Liz Kelly, London Metropolitan University; Julie Bindel, journalist & founder of Justice for Women; Ines Smyth, Gender Advisor, Oxfam; Amanda Ariss, Equal Opportunities Commission; Vivienne Hayes, Director of Women’s Resource Centre; Rebecca Gill, Women’s Policy Officer, TUC; and Anne Quesney, Director of Abortion Rights.
FEM 05 is FREE and OPEN TO ALL.
