The NUS SWD campaign is proud to announce an event that is happening in June. The event is open to all students and student officers. It would be of particular interest to SWD Officers, Equality & Diversity Officers, Welfare officers, Education officers and officers that have responsibility for SWD.
70% of all disabilities cannot be seen. On Monday June 13th it is the NUS SWD Hidden Disabilities Day. The day will inform you about how hidden disabilities such as mental ill health, epilepsy, diabetes, HIV, Dyslexia & dyspraxia impacts upon students, give you ideas about how you can campaign around hidden disabilities & how you can involve students who have hidden disabilities in your Union. The day will also give you the opportunity to meet representatives from leading organisations that work in the area of hidden disabilities. Come along & find out more about hidden disabilities.
The event is open to all and costs £10 for HE and is free for FE students. If you are a member of staff the event will cost £25.
We look forward to seeing you at this event. If you would like to know more please do get in touch or would like to register please get in touch with the NUS Events Department.
