| Welcome! These are your elected representatives who form the Mature Students National Committee. They were elected at Mature Students Conference and form the committee to take forward policy passed and formulate campaigns. Numbers of mature students are rising sharply across the UK and the committee is committed to campaigning for and supporting mature students wherever they study Each Committee member has responsibility for a ‘Super Region’ or Special Nation. Morag Maich 
Morag is a mature student at University of Abertay Dundee. Previously she was Sabbatical President at Dundee College for 2 years and studied for a HND Social Sciences. She was a midwife but had to leave the profession due to a back injury. She has been involved with NUS for many years in various ways, from being a student, to class rep to NUS Scotland’s Mature Students’ Observer and executive member on NUS Scotland’s Executive. Andys role in the union movement at London Metropolitan University has been varied. He started as a Halls Representative and moved onto being the Welfare Officer for two years. He is now a student councillor and works closely with both the new welfare officer and diversity officer. Andy is also a co-opted member of the NUS Disabled Students committee. Introducing Elaine. This is her first year on committee and she is really looking forward to the challenges ahead. She is a second year sabbatical president in a Scottish FE college where she sits on the Board of Management. She is also a member of the Scottish LGBT Committee and Scottish Women’s steering Elaine is responsible for the Special Nations (Wales and Northern Ireland) srcpresident@lauder.ac.uk
Matt Strong 
Matt is a second year politics and social policy student at the University of Manchester. After a considerable period of time working full-time in the so-called 'real world', Matt returned to education in his early-to-mid twenties; first as a part-time student at an FE college and now as a full-time university student. Dave is a 3rd Year Adult Nursing student at Canterbury Christ Church. Since starting his course at Canterbury he has been involved actively with the students’ union, in year one he held the post of officer without portfolio, in year two he was elected as mature student officer and has recently been re-elected to the post for his final year. Dave is proud to be an activist within the student union movement and can be found supporting campaigns and fighting for students’ rights. Dave has responsibility for the South dfwc3@canterbury.ac.uk
