Justice for Anthony Walker Vigil
02/08/2005

Dear Friends,

As you are aware Anthony Walker a young Black student was murdered in Huyton in the early hours of Saturday morning. The police regard this as a racially-motivated attack.

There will be a Justice for Anthony Walker Vigil to be held at 5.30pm at St George's Hall Steps on Tuesday 2nd August. This vigil has been organised by the NUS Black Students' Campaign and Unite Against Fascism and we urge as wide and broad support of it as possible. In attendance and speaking will be local trade unionists, politicians, faith groups, anti-racist campaigners and community leaders. The vigil is an opportunity to show our condemnation of this despicable racist murder and our commitment to a multicultural Merseyside.

Please do all you can to attend and encourage others to do so.

Pav Akhtar
NUS Black Students' Officer
