Went straight from FE Essentials in Royal Holloway to just outside Blackpool for two days of NEC Induction, this was my 5th experience of this and inarguably the most positive. The NEC seemed to really put political differences aside to move things forward, and left me feeling very positive about the upcoming year.
Educational event at the East London Mosque, where we covered a huge range of topics, and gave me certainly a much better insight into Islam, unfortunately I had to leave at lunchtime, to attend another meeting and I’m told that after lunch there was a number of debates, which I’m sorry to have missed.
Mtg. with Paul Mackney (Uncle Paul), to discuss out LSDA bid and the Anti-Semitism review.
West Midlands Manifesto to Action, 24-hour event in Birmingham.
Attended FOSIS Conference in Leicester
G8 demonstration in Edinburgh, a really positive and exciting day. I have to say my biggest frustration was the lack of media coverage, and I really don’t understand why it was decided to put the live 8 concerts on at the same time, even a day later would have led to the media agenda being dominated by the ‘make poverty history’ message, instead of more coverage being directly focussed upon the stars of the event.
