• Gave a key note speech at the ACRA conference, which is for college registrars. My speech was a variation on the one I made to Governors previously, and had a mixed reaction, tougher crowd this one.

• Generally I have to say that this was a miserable week. Following the resignations of the previous week and subsequent press coverage I was bombarded with abusive phone calls, emails and letters, many likening me to being worse than the BNP and much worse. What was particularly difficult to swallow were calls coming through on my mobile phone, which is a number not generally given out.
