National Council. Have ver little to say except that it was incredibly frustrating. Thanks to Matt Freeman for standing up as Vice Chair. I really encourage you all to talk to your national council reps about its effectiveness and put forward any suggestions for improvement. On the plus note I headed straight to Sheffield to watch United play Arsenal in the FA cup 5th round re-play. Yes we lost but we held them up to penalties!

Unfortunately didn’t get to attend the Education Lobby, as I had to head to Newcastle for their debate on NUS affiliation. However I heard it went amazingly well, in particular the FE element in the morning. NUS had new FE advocates who are doing a sterling job of representing the sector. Enjoyed the debate in Newcastle, reckon we won.

Met with the recruitment agent for National Director to shortlist for final interviews.

NUSSL board meeting, variety of issues, future of the company, convention, and of course the ever-controversial NUS extra amongst others.

Spent the weekend at home in Sheffield, writing election materials etc as this is the last day off I have till post conference and I really haven’t got my head around this going for election again thing aaagghh.
