• Very full Monday, mental health rally, mtg with student representative group, mtg with the DFES, celebrations in parliament over the Northern Ireland Grand Committees decisions not to support the introduction of Top up Fees in NI. But the pressure is still on, full details of the EDM etc are available on officeronline.
• Year of Change steering group meeting, here we finalised the research project that we are commissioning to find out exactly what our members want us to be as an organisation. We heard presentations from a number of research companies and eventually settled on MORI as our preferred choice. I personally think this was a particularly good choice as they focus primarily upon political research, which clearly this project is. The day ended with a night’s youth hostelling with he group, which shouldn’t be described here.
• SU visits Dudley College, It was their AGM and enjoyed by those who attended.
• Mtg. with previous Director of Finance to discuss estimates
• Mtg. with recruitment agent for post of National Director, all progressing at great pace.
• Gave keynote address at the launch of ESSA, the English Secondary Schools Association, which is attempting to organise school students to campaign for involvement in, and a better education system.
