Kent Uni AGM, a rather lengthy affair. Lots of presentations, lots of motions think it finished before midnight, just.

Visit to University College Northampton, who are discussing currently whether to re-join the national union after a break for a few year. Spent an interesting few hours with the sab team alongside the regional officer and a visit from the CEO of NUSSL. Obviously we’ll be continuing with following this up and hopefully we’ll see them rejoin soon. Incidentally their specialism is leather making!

Holocaust Memorial Day, I was given the opportunity to attend the service in Westminster Hall. The whole thing was incredibly emotional from start to finish, from the speakers to the films that were shown. I know that unions across the day marked HMD and it’s crucial that we all continue to recognise the greatest crime of the 20th century and use that to learn from it and make society a more tolerant and humane place.

Drove straight from HMD to Bangor University for a visit (a very very long drive)

Presented an award at the Muslim Students of the Year Award, which I understand is a fairly new initiative but growing rapidly. The award I presented was for excellence in student life and went to a member of the NUS National Steering Committee.
