Women’s Conference 2005
The good thing about these blogs is that we get to shamelessly plug and promote our events, so this blog is dedicated to Women’s Conference 2005.
When?
Monday 14 March to Wednesday 16 March 2005
Where
Britannia Hotel, Coventry
How much does it cost?
Every SU gets to send one voting delegate for free and you can also send non-voting observers, though we do charge for this. All delegates and observers must be women.
Sounds good, when do we have to register by?
The registration deadline is 5pm Friday 18 February 2005. We normally charge a late registration fee, and cannot guarantee to meet any access requirements for late registrations. If you have lost your registration form, please email ring the NUS Events Department on the main HQ switchboard: 020 7272 8900
What about policy? How does my union submit text?
The motions deadline closed on 10 December 04, and since then we’ve had and counted the priority ballot. The following motions will be discussed:
- Defending Women’s Officers
- Feminism in the student movement
- Defending a woman’s right to choose
- For equal pay
The amendments deadline closes at the same time as registration - Friday 18 February 2005 at 5pm.
Amendments can be no longer than 300 words (not counting headings and title) and must be relevant to the motion. You can only submit one amendment per motion. You need to use the following headings:
- Conference Believes
- Conference Further Believes
- Conference Resolves
Don’t use Conference Notes or your text may be ruled out.
Each amendment must be submitted in triplicate with a signed pro-forma attached to each copy. Photocopied signatures will not be accepted.
For more information on how to submit policy, email Jo Salmon. For copies of the motions document, etc, contact the NUS Events Department on 020 7272 8900 or events@nus.org.uk.
All the documents are also available on officeronline:

See you in Coventry!
