Jo Salmon - National Women's Officer

Jo was elected as the NUS National Women's Officer in March 2004 and re-elected in March 2005. Aged 26, she is the 13th sabbatical Women's Officer for the national union.

She graduated from the University of Wales Lampeter in 2000, where she was the part-time Women's Officer in her final year. Having continued her studies to do a part-time M.Phil, Jo was then elected as the sabbatical Deputy President Welfare for Lampeter SU from 2001-2003, and then the sabbatical Women's Officer for UCMC / NUS Wales from 2003-2004.

Jo lives in Oxford with her partner Antonia. In her spare time, Jo watches lots of DVDs (her favourites being The West Wing, Buffy, Angel, Six Feet Under, Bad Girls, as well as various trashy films), reads lots of books, plays on her gamecube, edits various websites, and does whatever she can to avoid the washing up! She is involved in politics beyond the student movement and places herself on the left of the Labour Party. She is also a member of the GMB.
