1. www.labourstudents.org.uk - Labour Students
I am an active member and work with other Labour Students within NUS.
3. www.unison.org.uk - UNISON
This is my trade union, still the biggest in Wales.
4. www.open.ac.uk - The Open University
After dropping out of HE because I couldn’t afford it I am currently studying towards an BA (Open) degree.
5. www.lclgr.org - Labour Campaign for Lesbian and Gay Rights
Affiliated to the Labour Party but happy to criticise it when it lets down LGBT people.
6. www.queerasfolkuk.com - Queer As Folk tv show
Sounds bizarre but it got me into politics. Set in the Gay Village in Manchester, it happened that the first LGB Conference of my first year was held in Manchester. The rest is history.
7. www.fictionpress.com - FictionPress
For aspiring writers to practise both writing and critique. And no, I’m not telling you my pseudonym!
8. www.wikipedia.org - Wikipedia
You can find out anything on here, and even get an insight into some of the thornier political issues that are often discussed in NUS.
9. www.cymdeithas.com - Cymdeithas Yr Iaith Gymraeg
The Welsh Language Society in English. I often disagree with their methods but there is no organisation that more strongly advocates on behalf of the Welsh language.
10. www.eisteddfod.org.uk - Eisteddfod Cenedlaethol
There’s nothing like the Eisteddfod outside of Wales. It’s an annual cultural and political event, a cross between a conference, a freshers’ fair and a concert. Amazing!
