James-J, joins us fresh from being a Sabbatical Officer at Oxford Brookes Students' Union, where he completed his two year tenure as the Deputy President: Welfare and Education.

James-J's involvement with the Student Movement started in his first year at University, where he was elected to be the President of his site (Lady Spencer Churchill Halls), then in his second year he held two positions of LGBT Society President and Halls Representation Officer within his SU.

James-J is now the part time LGBT Officer (Open-Place) and will be returning to study in September.

Some of James-J's achievements and accomplishments while being involved within his local Student movement include:

*Making the University undertake a £500,000 refurbishment of their Halls of Residence

*Growing his LGBT Group from 7 members to over 150 in one year, and with it now standing at well over 350members.

*Undertaking, developing, researching, and writing one of the best Quality Assurance Agency Student Written Submission reports in the UK.

As well as this James-J was also the National Councillor for the South-West Region for 2004/5 and a member of LGBT Committee as well.
