Happy New Year! The time is just flying at the minute, its doesn’t feel 5 seconds since I moved to London to take up office yet here we are back in January, with rubbish weather and the NEC elections, or as some in NUS call it “silly season,” getting in full swing yet again.
I don’t know about you but I definitely needed the break I was shattered just needed some sleep and I’m sure that most student officers felt the same. The hours some Officers work in Students’ Unions and in NUS are ridiculous at times and a long break like we’ve just had is extremely healthy and, unlike those who were posting on ednet on Christmas Day, I tried not to think about NUS at all! But now Officers are back at work and it’ll all start piling up again so if your one of those officers please take a minute to fill out the sabbatical work/life balance survey for us before yours starts getting out of kilter again!
In the three remaining days of the week (we started back on the 4th) I had meetings about Annual Conference and the Strategic Plan, started writing my addendum to the Report and Plan, started work on the Year of Change group meeting for the 16th and started writing a guide to compositing.
