Monday 28th November saw the start of STADIA Conference, it is STADIA’s 10th Anniversary this year and the conference was very celebratory! The event was as ever great and the feedback we had was fabulous, we did a range of workshops covering all aspects of student activities and going over the priority campaign too.
Thursday 1st December was the NEC delegation meeting to decide what motions we were going to submit as an NEC and to elect the delegation leader, Kat got elected and we debated, composited, argued then agreed one motion in each zone to submit. That evening I went to the NUSSL xmas do, and went to see Guys and Dolls the musical then went to dinner, it was a fantastic show and the food was great!
Friday 2nd December saw the close of the motions deadline. 58 unions submitted motions this year compared to 28 last year, I think the Democracy Guide and the email submission really helped unions with the confusing process. We have had a few hiccups with the new system, as with any new system so I sent a letter out to unions explaining the errors made and encouraging them to avoid them in the amendments submission stage.
Here is a copy of the letter.
