MAKE YOUR VOICE HEARD IN THE CORRIDORS OF POWER AT WESTMINSTER
12/02/2007

In the last few years FE has taken its rightful place at the heart of NUS. We have worked hard to lobby on behalf of thousands of students who haven’t had much visibility. We have succeeded in winning a massive fight- getting the government to guarantee learner voice in all the FE institutions across the country. Learner voice – consultation with the millions of students in FE - is now an integral part of the Further Education and Training Bill that is currently going through parliament.

That is a massive win for FE but we still need you to help us fight the good fight. In the coming months, MPs will be given the chance to vote for or against this Bill, NUS wants this to be a resounding YES vote. To help convince MPs, we need as many of you as possible to come down to lobby parliament on this issue on the 21st February see http://www.officeronline.co.uk/fe/273785.aspx

FE is a hugely important sector for the government and we need you to let decision makers know that the student voice, the ‘learner voice’ in that sector, plays a vital part.

That’s why we need you, your voice and in as large a number as possible to get down to Westminster to let the government know that they need to get this bill through parliament.

Wednesday 21st February will be your chance to lobby MPs at Westminster and question the education spokespeople for all the major parties about their stance. I’ll be there and can’t wait to see you there…
