| This is what I’ve been up to since my last BLOG. 6th-9th November Regional Conferences I was on the east side of the country for this round of regional conferences, we went from Essex University to University of East London to Nottingham Trent University and ended up at Durham University despite playing my part and in breaking the sat nav and blowing the fuse on the radio! It was one of the best set of regional conferences I’ve been on- I think having workshops worked really well and it gave me an opportunity to find out some local issues that FE unions were having and there were some interesting and refreshing discussions about the future reform of NUS. I particularly want to mention the North East Regional Conference where TWO delegates from further education colleges were elected to be national council reps- FANTASTIC! 7th November- National Learner Panel (NLP) Steering Group meeting I missed the morning of London’s regional conference to attend the last meeting of the NLP steering group before the launch of the NLP on 20th November. I’m really pleased to say that I’m now a member of the NLP, which I’m really excited about and I’ll update you on the progress of the NLP soon. 16th November Personalisation Project Group Meeting 21st-22nd November- Association of Colleges Conference 10th-18th November South and London and North FE Leadership Courses and 24th-26th Midlands and East FE Leadership course These events have been absolutely fantastic and it was great to meet the student leaders who are going to take forward their unions, colleges and the FE sector this year. Many thanks to everyone who helped out and particular thanks to the Centre for Excellence in Leadership for sponsoring the events. If you were able to attend I hope you enjoyed it, make sure you keep in touch!
