FE Lobby of Parliament 15th February
06/02/2006

The NUS FE Campaign will be holding a lobby on FE issues on Wednesday February 15th. The Loud and Clear Lobby will enable us to proactively push for policy changes in FE- ensuring that your voice, and the voice of your students, is heard loud and clear in the corridors of power at Westminster.

The overall theme of the lobby is “Loud and Clear” - ensuring that the recommendations made by Sir Andrew Foster in his review of FE on learner voice are implemented - better funding for student representation, more training for student reps, learner panels and better funding and facilities for students’ unions.

But it’s also your chance as a union to highlight all sorts of other issues in FE - funding and financial support, access, admissions and aspirations, representation, welfare and equality and diversity. Our policy goals are as diverse and dynamic as our membership and it is up to you to lobby for what is important to you.

We need YOU to make this lobby a success! We have secured a meeting place at Westminster Kingsway College around the corner from the Houses of Parliament, at 10.30am for us to brief and train you on lobbying your MP. Then in the afternoon we have Committee Room 14 in the House of Commons booked from 1.30 – 3.30pm, when MP’s and people form across the sector will come to speak and take part in a panel debate.

For more details please sclick here. Come along and make your voice heard loud and clear!

Even if you can't make it to the lobby, you can still get involved by writing to your MP. Please ask them to support the lobby by signing EDM 1484 and attending the debate on FE which will take place in the House of Commons on the day.

Download the standard letter to get started!

See you there!
