At the end of last month, the UCU and NUT held a day's strike action and asked the government to increase the wages of teachers. NUS supported this and I went along to the march along with Dave Lewis (National Treasurer), Wes Streeting (VP Education and President-elect), Richard 'Bubble' Budden (Block of 12 and National Secretary-elect), Gemma Tumelty (National President and a speaker at the day's rally), Sofie Buckland (Block of 12), Rob Owen (Block of 12), Ryan Slaughter (WMANUS convenor) and Hollie Williams (block of 12-elect).
