Today I attended the launch of LGBT history month at the Tate Gallery
15/02/2005

Today I attended the launch of LGBT history month at the Tate Gallery. The project, initiated by SchoolsOUT is an amazing example of how we can all work to break down homophobia in society. I will be writing a briefing in the next few days for all Unions, giving them ideas and suggestions for LGBT history month and encouraging them to participate. The student movement, with its proud history of championing diversity, should be vocal supporters of this initiative and lobby decision makers and organisations to support it.

I have also organised for the LGBT history month logo to be put on the front page of the NUS website and I would encourage constituent members and local LGBT groups to do the same if they have the ability.
