Blair to Announce University Cash Deal

The Financial Times report that a scheme to encourage alumni to give money to their old universities will get the go-ahead this week after years of campaigning by the higher education sector.

Tony Blair is set to announce plans to boost university endowments by matching a portion of private donations with £200m of public funds.
