Why is the NEC blogging?Following the original NUS blog in the StopFeesNow campaign, the NEC has been mandated by passed-policy to blog. Full time members of the NEC must blog a minimum of once per fortnight, detailing their activities. Part-time executive members must blog at least once a month. Every NEC member is free to blog more often than the minimum.
Aside from policy-specified topics like listing visits to Constituent Members, each blog is what its author makes of it. One NEC member may choose to write an almost-daily description of work they do for NUS. Another may choose to use it as a platform for her or his views on international issues. Another may want to write about their cat. It's their space; it's their choice.
On a practical note, blogs are potentially a great one-stop-shop way to find your way around a website. If you're interested in content and materials related to Womens' Officer work, read the NUS Womens' Officer's blog. If you want to know what's going on in Wales, read the Welsh president's blog, and so on.
We should, however, make it very clear that the views and opinions expressed in the blogs are those of the author and do not necessarily reflect the policies or practices of NUS.
