Our campaign backs NUS reform
20/03/2008

On Monday 17 March, NUS' LGBT Committee passed a motion in favour of the NUS governance review.

The Committee backed the review due to its aims of 'improving NUS, its accessibility, its democracy, our campaigning outcomes, and our cultures.'

It also noted that 'the review looks at better supporting the liberation campaigns and our committees.'

"LGBT students should be at the heart of NUS and that's why we have played a central role at each step of the governance review. NUS structures are broken and you will have your chance to fix them for the better," explains Claire Anderson, LGBT Officer (women's place).

NUS' Disabled Students' Campaign also back change and last week the Women's Conference rejected a motion against the governance reform.
