Emergency rally against the BNP
Please circulate widely to all contacts
Saturday 9th December - Free Transport to and from Central London to Dagenham 11.30am, University of London Union, Malet Street
The fascist British National Party (BNP) has called a rally in Barking and Dagenham on Saturday, in an attempt to stir up race hatred. The BNP already has twelve councillors in the area which has seen a recent increase in racist violence.
Fascism stands for the murder of millions, the annihilation of entire communities and the complete destruction of democracy and human rights through violence.
Unite Against Fascism has called a peaceful counter-protest to take place at 1pm on Saturday. It is crucial that students attend to show that the overwhelming majority of people reject the fascist politics of the BNP and stand united against attempts to divide us.
NUS anti-racism campaign is organising a coach to bring students to and from Saturday's demonstration. The coach will be leaving the University of London Union, Malet Street at 11.30am. Anyone wishing to travel on the coach or seeking further information should contact NUS Black Students’ Officer, Ruqayyah Collector on 0793 274 3674 or ruqs@nus.org.uk or George Woods on 0781 443 4939.
The protest is supported by NUS anti-racism campaign, NUS Black Students' Campaign and the Student Assembly Against Racism.
Please forward this to all student contacts.
