About the Development Unit

What we do?

The Development Unit, together with the regional offices, supports local unions by helping them review and plan democratic structures and offering advice on constitutional and election problems.

How we do it?

We produce resources such as publications, submissions and briefings and provide information on developmental issues.

Working together: achieving the best results

The Development Unit can provide a case work/advice service on all aspects of students’ union development and membership participation.

Officers that we help and support on a regular basis:

Any students’ union officers that seek assistance with constitutions, elections or other development issues.

Internally, we work closely with regional officers and also with the further education researcher in support of developments within the sector.
